Size the plant to the load

Refrigeration capacity should follow room setpoint, product throughput, door openings and ambient conditions. Oversizing does not automatically save energy — it can increase short-cycling and make humidity harder to control.

Refrigerants and CO₂ options

Conventional HFC/HCFC systems are familiar and widely serviceable. CO₂ can offer a lower environmental impact in suitable applications but needs experienced design and maintenance. Compare capital cost, long-term power use and environmental requirements.
